You are Magnificent - for girls 9-14 and their mothers

Welcome to the Girls Rising Movement, a body-positivity programme for girls aged 10-14 and their mothers to navigate puberty and menstruation without embarrassment, secrecy or shame.

The Mother-Daughter retreat will take place at the beautiful Strawbale studio in Epping Green Hertfordshire. These monthly sessions that will explore themes of body positivity and body literacy for girls to explore in a safe and nurturing environment with their mothers.

This session will introduce the Girls Rising sessions to the girls and their mothers. This is an opportunity to connect on a deeper level with your daughter, have fun and rest in the beautiful Strawbale Studio and its surroundings. You will get chance to connect with other Mother's and the girls to connect together separately too. We will be inspired by stories. We will learn about our bodies in a fun, open and positive way so that we can honour our bodies and defend our girls from the negative body narratives unfortunately still all too prominent in our world.

We will rest, discuss, play, move, share, create and sing together. Everything is an invitation to join in but you will be welcome here however you are. We will be a support group and will be following Covid guidelines of sitting 2-metres apart, but with your daughter. The Strawbale Studio is well ventilated and we will take the opportunity to be outdoors as much as can for any singing and movement.
